Shared Values and Community Principles
Residents of The Savoy make up a rich and diverse community based on mutual responsibility and respect for the building, and for one another.
As owners and tenants of apartments which together constitute The Savoy, Darlinghurst we acknowledge the long history of this illustrious landmark building.
As custodians of the building, we respect the importance of appropriate care, maintenance and development of the building over time.
We acknowledge the building has undergone many changes and enhancements over the decades, to reflect improving living standards, expectations and advances in technology and service provision.
Consequently we will work together to continually improve every facet of the property, while ensuring it retains significant elements of its heritage.
We, the residents and tenants each share a duty of care to upholding the standards of the building, especially its common areas, and a duty to be vigilant to issues and defects which require the attention of the management company and Board.
While respecting each other’s privacy and personal spaces, we also respect each other’s right to peace and calm, free of excessive noise and disturbance (human or pet), particularly late evening and nighttime.
We adhere to mutual respect and civility in all communications, verbal or written (including online and text), in both content and tone, between the community of individual residents, and between residents and Savoy Board representatives, who serve and give of their time and commitment voluntarily.
The Board and management company strive for transparency, open communication and good governance in all its undertakings on behalf of residents. Any resident may join the Savoy Board when vacancies become due ensuring equity and fairness in decision making.
